Leadership 1"O"1

OBJECTIVE: To provide team leaders with creative skills & practices that will focus on personal productivity and management, resulting in greater workplace satisfaction and performance improvements for organizations.

The Big O Creative Services’ Leadership 1″O”1 course is  where senior leaders learn — and learn to share with their teams — the benefits creative skills practices bring to business success. So first, we explore the data which demonstrates that when creativity is embraced in the workplace, team productivity improves. Then we both teach creative skills to team leaders and train them in creative skills development exercises they can put into practice with their teams.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Big O Creative Services?

Big O Creative Services uses experienced creative professionals who have made a success out of practicing creativity. These are no “starving artists.” These are professional creatives from artistic pursuits across the wide range of what we call art — painting, dance, drawing, woodworking, singing, speaking, acting, story fiction, poetry, play writing and more. Heck, we’re trying to figure out how to bring horses into the model and teach dressage skills!

But more than just artistic successes — our creativity coaches understand how the practice of creativity is imperative to their business and the benefits it can bring to yours.

How are you different from other soft skills training?

Truthfully, we’ve been to a few and leaving those workshops we realized two things. One, there was no good way to remember what we’d learned because they were so boring. Two, they were so, very, boring!

Seriously, we wanted to poke our eyes out we were so bored. They didn’t teach us anything new or innovative about soft skills practices that we could use with fellow team members to truly make an impact. And they certainly didn’t make the training memorable.

We knew we could do better. And the vision we had for doing better meant allowing people to learn by practicing creative skills that can, quite frankly, bring joy. This makes for employees who want to work harder and deliver better results, because their creative side is nurtured.

Why soft skills training at all?

Before embarking on this journey, we interviewed scores of team leaders and human resources directors in companies from small to extra large, start-ups to stalwarts and they all agreed that to get and retain valuable talent, it is imperative to realize it’s not a set of skills that walks into the workplace. It is the whole person who comes to work. Soft skills training provides team leaders the confidence to manage the broad range of personalities, motivations and performance abilities of an organization. But soft skills training without memorable ways to maintain and practice them, are wasted dollars for an organization.

Am I really expected to dance, sing, craft stories and paint in front of my colleagues?

Yes.

And that’s the point. These skills require that your corporate culture is one of trust and acceptance so your teams can truly be idea-focused, productivity-driven and embrace a pride of workmanship.

Our unique approach to soft skills training means you step out of what’s comfortable to you so you can ask the same of your team members.
